Hi and welcome to Teaching Twins at Home!
I'm Shari! Mom to twin girls, and wife to an amazing husband who supports me in all that I do. I love the Lord and am looking forward to teaching my girls about His love for them. Although I wasn't previously open to the idea, God opened a door and I chose not to ignore it... so teacher has now been added to my resume! I'm a few years into this journey of homeschooling and loving every minute of it. I'm looking forward to seeing what's in store for us as a family as we continue on this path God has for us.
When I'm not doing this whole Homeschool thing, or taking care of my girls, you can find me with a big ol' camera in my hand. Join me on this adventure of teaching my girls to be kind and loving young women who love the Lord and understand His call for their lives. My goal is to document the ups and downs of my journey as well as the things I learn along the way to make this adventure fun.
Meet my 8 year old twin girls!
Brinley & Avalyn (2013)
On the Left is Brinley. Brin is the baby of the family who
loves her sissy more than anything. She comes off as soft spoken, but
don't let her fool you. Just when you least expect it she'll get attached
and be talking your ear off. She loves her stuffed animals and dolls and
is often found making up an elaborate story with her sister while having an
adventure around the house. She loves to read and will often curl up
somewhere quiet for hours until she finishes her book. She also loves art
and crafting. She's a true sweetheart and has such a giving spirit and is
always willing to share what she has so everyone can enjoy it.
On the Right is Avalyn. She's the first born by a minute,
and is the stereotypical oldest. She's loud, boisterous, hilarious, and
loves to be in charge. Av loves to play pretend with her sister and can
regularly be found making up stories with all the voices to go along. Av
loves to dance and no matter where she is, she can't resist jumping to her feet
the moment music begins to play so she can shake her groove thang. She
also loves art and a good mystery book will keep her reading until it's finished.
Despite her loudness, she's a definite lover and has an unexpected sensitive
spirit.
